WINTER GEMS

Despite the fact that we’re already in the middle of winter and that Christmas is (sadly) behind us, I decided to make a little article about my favorite fragrances for this cold season. May I introduce you to the winning trio? Bvlgari’s Rose Goldea – Viktor&Rolf’s FlowerBomb – DKNY’s Be Delicious. Each of them has a distinct character, a unique je-ne-sais-quoi, but the three of them meet in a glittering packaging and floral scents. These are my winter gems.

ROSE GOLDEA BY BULGARI

The scent in 3 words : floral – musky – girly

The notes : The head notes are pomegranate and musk ; the heart notes are Damascus rose absolute, jasmine, peony and musky again; the base notes are sandalwood, olibanum (an aromatic sap, also used for incenses) and musk. As you an see (and smell), musk is present on every stage of the fragrance, just as in Goldea.

The bottle : Identically shaped as Bulgaria’s Goldea, a drop-shaped bottle that reflects light and a cabochon closer recalling Cleopatra’s headpiece – but this edition is all baby pink, all rose.

FLOWERBOMB BY VIKTOR&ROLF

The scent in 3 words : oriental – floral – powdery

The notes : The head notes are bergamot and tea; the heart notes are jasmine, orange blossom, freesia, rose and orchid; the base notes are musk and patchouli.

The bottle : The one on the pictures is Flowerbomb’s Limited Edition 2016, presented in a glittering bottle with a large crystal flower, this limited edition bottle encases magical and evocative floral notes.

BE DELICIOUS BY DKNY

The scent in 3 words : fresh – sweet – floral

The notes : The head notes are violet leaf, cucumber, apple, grapefruit and magnolia; the heart notes are tuberose, lily of the valley, rose and violet ; the base notes are sandalwood, amber and musk

The bottle : Apple-shaped as the original Be Delicious bottle, but this Crystallized version is presented in bottles inspired by diamonds, prisms and sculptured, faceted crystals.

++ Gosh I remember when the first Be Delicious fragrance was first launched, back in 2004, everybody (and I mean it: every-single-one) had it – I even had the miniature apple version to carry it at school (how fancy of my 10-years old self). Liked it then, and still loving it.
