PITTI IN FLORENCE WITH NOBIS
As January comes to an end, and I am once again in a foreign country far from home, I must admit that while I planned to travel a lot this year, I wouldn’t have imagined that I’d spent so much time abroad. And yet during this first month of the year I discovered three new cities (Florence – Bordeaux – New York) and embarked myself on several exciting projects (the Cartier one you already know, but there are plenty more to be revealed soon!). It is fun how the life I havent planned on having is picking it’s way; a closed door suggests some opened windows, an opportunity leads to many others and you end up making jokes with the security guy at the airport because you’re always travelling with the same massive boots, please lady you know you have to remove them.
But before talking about the future projects, or even that trip to New York that’s not over yet, I have to share with you the outfit I wore for the Pitti exhibition in Florence, the one I attended with the Canadian brand Nobis. From the Wikipedia definition, Pitti Uomo is one of the world’s most important platforms for men’s clothing and accessory collections, and for launching new projects in men’s fashion (held twice yearly in Florence, at the Fortezza da Basso). From my own definition, Pitti Uomo is a surprisingly fun mini-Fashion Week, with tons of trendy outfitted bloggers hanging around and pretending to be in busy conversation with an inexistent person on their phone, while famous street-style photographers are shooting them. As I said – a mini Fashion Week to and fro. Charles and I arrived there at the beginning of the afternoon, and went directly to Nobis’ stand – for I heard their new collection was a gem, and missing it really wasn’t an option – I wasn’t disappointed; while the main focus was of course men clothing, the Canadian brand also brought many pieces from womenswear. My biggest crush was without doubt their new line, Nobis Black, the one with exclusively faux-fur on it – really cannot wait to wear it next Fall.
My outfit for the Pitti occasion was, believe me, quite modest next to the local street-style-stars; I chose to wear my beloved Nobis « Harlow » jacket, along with some cool embroidered pants and my fave Gucci slippers – for the comfort, you know.
