CAUDALIE’S VINE[ACTIV] LAUNCH IN PARIS
Shortly after coming back from the Milan Fashion Week (the next day actually), Charles and I departed for Paris with one of my all-time favorite beauty brand, Caudalie. You guys already know how much I love Paris right? Thus, even if I’m usually taking at least two days to recover from a Fashion Week before heading to another, I couldn’t resist confirming my presence at the launch of Caudalie’s new line and arriving in Paris on the very day the PFW began.
Our train arrived at the Gare de Lyon in the evening, and a driver accompanied us to our hotel, Le Pigalle – a true gem hidden in the southern slopes of Montmartre, a neighborhood that attracts artists, adventurers and bad boys.
Having been rather exhausted at that point of my travel, it was with a real delight that I sank into a relaxing bath before treating myself like a princess with all the Caudalie goodies that were waiting for me in my hotel room.
The morning after I opened my eyes quite confused – where were I? In Geneva? In Milan? The crust of warm pain baguette with butter and jam (please excuse the cliché, I just really love baguette bread) confirmed that I woke up in no other place than Paris. But before Charles and I could even say café au lait we were in the hotel’s lobby with our unpacked suitcases meeting Caudalie’s Swiss PR – no time to laze around when on a press trip!
The first stop of the day was Caudalie’s Abesses Boutique (that was practically located at a five-minutes walk from Le Pigalle) where a Glowing Activating facial appointment had been taken for me. I could explain for hours how exhilarating it is to have a facial massage on a cold, rainy morning after four days of intense Fashion Week, but I think it will sound weird, so I’ll just let you make your own opinion.
The 50-minutes ritual was designed to energize the skin and protect it against pollution, using Jade stones for the massage and giving me a sneak-peak of what VineActiv, the new Caudalie line, could do to my tired little face.
What I particularly liked, except naturally being treated like the spoilt brat I sometime am, is the fact that many of the products used for the massage were products I knew, tested and even reviewed – I’m talking about the Instant Detox Mask, the Eau de Beauté and my all-time favorite : the Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil. Although these products were no real surprise (I mean, I’m using them on a daily basis at home), it is always really nice to see how other people use them.
Following this little treat, we headed directly to Caudalie’s HQ. The place, a typical parisian house, was all decorated in the mood of the new products line, and the floor was covered with a huge To-Do List – that actually made me laugh so hard because Charles always says that I’m infernal with my never-ending lists, I guess Caudalie over-played me there.
After meeting all the invited bloggers and PRs, we were introduced to the new four products that build up the VineActiv line – the Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum, the 3-in-1 Moisturizer, the Overnight Detox Oil and the Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream. This particular line is made for Millenials, that Generation Y whose major problem is a busy lifestyle : stress, lack-of-sleep, overdose of social media interactions (oupss, guilty x3) and thus, the products fight the first wrinkles, dark circles and sallow-looking skin. (Scroll down for more precise reviews of each product). I have a particular crush on the packagings from this line, as they all come rather small-sized (min. 15ml for the Eye Cream and max. 40ml for the Moisturizer), allowing themselves to be easily packed for travels and weekend trips.
But next to the discovery of VineActiv, the highlight of this presentation was without doubt the opportunity to talk with Mathilde Thomas, Caudalie’s founder – a very beautiful and inspiring woman. Can’t wait to lay my hands on her book now!
MORE ABOUT THIS NEW BEAUTY ROUTINE
- CORRECT with the Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum. This self-defense serum is to be applied morning and evening on face&decolleté before the moisturizer as it helps strengthening the skin barrier to better fight against the effects of aging and busy lifestyle. I like the fact that this serum is very light and is absorbed by the skin within seconds, leaving just a feeling of smoothness.
- MOISTURIZE with the 3-in-1 Moisturizer. An essential cream that protects against pollution (by limiting the quantity of pollutant particles deposited on the skin), smoothes the little wrinkles and restores a healthy-looking glow to the face.
- DETOXIFY with the Overnight Detox Oil. Containing a high concentrate of Omega 6 and Polyphenols, this 100% natural oil helps the tired skin to regenerate itself at night. I included this product to my personal routine by adding 4-6 (depending on my skin needs) drops to my regular night cream, giving it an oily texture and of course, a lavender scent that I adore.
- BRIGHTEN with the Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream. The little savior of my busy-school-schedules, long-work-hours, waking-up-before-the-crack-of-dawn kind of days. This cream is, unlike the rest of the line, fragrance-free, and despite of it’s name can be used for more than just eye-contour. I feel your perplexity, so long story short: this cream works as a moisturizing charm on dry lip and nose contours too! You’re welcome.
