NOT-SO-PARISIENNE IN PARIS
Escaping two days in Paris is without doubt my favorite kind of escape, as a short stay is just enough for me to appreciate the city’s charm without clashing with it’s moody residents and also because on such short trips I can allow myself to travel with a hand luggage only, taking a couple of outfits that I carefully plan a while before … but last week’s preparations somehow went wrong.
See, I was invited to Jean Paul Gautier’s big fragrance launch in Paris (everything about it will be revealed pretty soon!), and although my party dress was ready weeks before, the clothes I ordered online for the days I had to spend in the City of Lights where nowhere to be seen – or actually, there were seen by someone else than me as the courrier has delivered my precious package to a wrong address. A mess. A mess that left me look-less the day before my Parisian escapade. I guess I have to blame my last-minute organisation system.
Anyway, I had to compose with what I had in my wardrobe, and God knows how I hate changing plans. Nothing seems good enough in those occasions. After having opened each closet ten times, tried a couple of tops, thrown another couple of shorts, pulled my hair out for some desperate minutes, I selected one of my favorites jeans skirt that I had on a mega discount last year and paired it with a veryyyy old American Apparel jumpsuit – as most of the items I have from this brand the jumpsuit would have been totally indecent to wear alone, for it’s quite short (really short actually), so wearing it under a long skirt was a solution. I also found a way in matching the Gucci golden straw hat my boyfriend gave me for Christmas, doesn’t it add a little Provinciale touch to the look? I do think so.
