TIME STANDS STILL

No matter how much I love travelling and experiencing new places and lifestyles, a couple of months ago I started noticing that my skin was far from appreciating the constant change, whether of locations or routines, and tiredness began to appear instead of my oh-how-desired glow. Blame it on my wish to be constantly over-present, over-punctual and over-perfectionist, I ended up over-exhausted yet unable to slow down the rhythm I imposed to myself. And that was all over my face.

Sometimes I think of how beautiful it would be to freeze time, capture an instant of honest smile, a beautiful ray of light through the falling leaves or the bliss of a flawless skin day. To commend time to stand still. By mid-October two big changes came into my life, one was linked to my personal life and health, and forced me to pace myself, and the second one was linked to my beauty routine, and my introduction into La Mer’s Genaissance line.

You guys might know by now that La Mer products hold a special place in my heart and my vanity case, yet although I’ve tested most of the creams and makeup products from their collections, I’ve never had the opportunity to pick into their luxurious Genaissance line. At least, not until their Genaissance Serum was joined by two new launches, the Infused Lotion and the Eye and Expression Cream. Both packagings, champagne gold glass bottles, are rather heavy and luxuriously-looking – perfect additions to my bathroom counters.

  • The Genaissance Infused Lotion, aka the first thing I now apply on my face after cleaning it with cold water, has a very lightweight formula that is almost instantly absorbed by the skin, leaving it very soft and the complexion prepped and ready for whatever comes next (in my case, it is La Mer’s Moisturizing Matte Lotion)
  • The Genaissance Eye and Expression Cream has a rich consistency that spreads easily, so basically you just need a small amount to properly cover the eye and mouth areas. It comes with a little magnetic massage tool that sticks onto the lid, which is not only practical but also plays a great deal in making the ritual more effective, depuffying-wise especially.

I’ve been using these two products as part of my routine for a couple of weeks now, and whether it is the Cristal Miracle Broth that acts on skin’s natural renewal, or the Genaissance Ferment made of red algae and refined 24 karat gold (how deliciously fancy does that sound?), but my face has never looked fresher. And I’m not only talking about the reduced signs of aging, that might not be every millennial’s main preoccupation indeed, but also about stress, tiredness and everyday life tasks’ marks.
