Name a drink that screams « summer » better than an ice coffee. Indeed, year after year the warm season’s been defined by that moment when you finally decide to add ice cubes to your everyday fuel – and if you’ve been attentive to my previous summer posts you might know that Nespresso developed a special range of coffees that are premium when served cold. Perfect for ice lattes and co 😉

As I recently upgraded my coffee making experience by adding a Nespresso Vertuo Next coffee machine to my apartment, I’ve been trying different variations of my favorite BARISTA CREATIONS iced coffees, this time with capsules for the Vertuo system.

This Nespresso Summer’s coffee range for Vertuo is made of:

  • BARISTA CREATIONS Ice Leggero, which is a seasonal fruity coffee
  • BARISTA CREATIONS Ice Forte, another seasonal coffee, more intense and aromatic
  • BARISTA CREATIONS Tropical Coconut Flavour Over Ice, a Limited Edition Relaunch, exotic and sweet
  • BARISTA CREATIONS Exotic Liminha Over Ice, a brand new launch with fresh lime and mint notes, also Limited Edition

There is one particular summer recipe that I keep doing over and over again because it’s just too yummy, that’s the Ice Leggero Maracujá Sunrise for Vertuo. Scroll down do see how to make it!


  • BARISTA CREATIONS Ice Leggero coffee (80ml)
  • 10ml passion fruit syrup
  • 110ml oat drink
  • 4x ice cubes (30g each)
  • (optional) Passion fruit and edible flowers


  • Nespresso Reveal Cold Recipe Glass (550ml)
  • Shaker


  1. Into a shaker add 10ml of passion fruit syrup, 110ml of oat drink 
  2. Extract 80ml of BARISTA CREATIONS Ice Leggero over it
  3. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 20 seconds
  4. Put 4 Ice cubes (30g each) into a Nespresso Reveal Cold Recipe glass. Pour and strain the frappé directly into the glass
  5. (optional) Garnish with passion fruit and edible flowers for a pop of color
  6. Enjoy! 🙂
