BECOMING RUBY WOO

V13A0207

Believe it or not, the first red lipstick I’ve ever bought was a MAC one; a matte, blood red named Ruby Woo. Since then I tested many reds, this shade becoming what we could call my signature look – but Ruby Woo remained my personal classic, a sure asset for a forever-lasting stay and a rich color payoff. In general, I tend to consider a red lipstick as a game changer. Haven’t you noticed how a whole outfit can transform with a touch of red? It’s quite simple, yet it adds this chic je-ne-sais-quoi and can definitely upgrade ANY outfits, from a total denim look to a work attire.

But today is not about lipsticks, or at least not all about them – as MAC is launching Shadescents, a fragrance line inspired by the brand’s most iconic lipstick shades. Ever wondered what your fave lipstick would smell as a perfume? Wonder no more.

Being a total Ruby Woo addict, I of course crushed for it’s homologue, the little deep red bottle. It’s scent, described as a woody floral with leather accents, actually left on me a strong berries scent as a first impression. But past the first sweet notes appear some saffron and pepper scents, showing the fragrance’s real deepness and thus making Ruby Woo very oriental.

Just as Ruby Woo the lipstick, I feel like this new MAC perfume is a game-changer: it gives a femme-fatale assurance, that extra something that makes a person memorable. Oh I’d definitely have an additional spritz, thank you.
